From the north:
-
Take 1 south towards
narragansett/wakefield - after you pass the stop light in the 40 mph
zone near wakefield, take the second exit. it should be marked "narragansett".
-
Turn left at the
light at the end of the ramp. - take the second option out of the
rotary. i don't remember if it is marked or not. this road is marked
"1A" below.
-
Turn left when you
get to the stop light at the end of the road.
-
Turn left when you
get to the stop light at the end of the road. again! You should be
able to see the beach/ocean now.
-
Turn right into the
second parking lot - somewhere around the pavilion on the left side
of the lot.
-
If you are coming
from connecticut, i think it is easiest to take the exit off 95 that
says something like "Westerly, RI Beaches". i believe this is the
last exit on 95 in connecticut.
-
Follow the signs to
get to westerly. - 1 north towards narragansett/wakefield
-
Take the exit marked
108. you will see a couple of signs for wakefield, and the south county
hospital before you reach this exit.
-
Turn right at the
end of the ramp.
-
Turn left at the second
light. there will be a mobil station on the corner. be careful not
to take the ramp that puts you back onto 1 north just as you make
this turn - i.e., stay left at the fork.
-
Take the first option
out of the rotary. i don't remember if it is marked or not. this road
is marked "1A" on the map below.
-
Follow the directions
above from #3.
