From the north:

  1. Take 1 south towards narragansett/wakefield - after you pass the stop light in the 40 mph zone near wakefield, take the second exit. it should be marked "narragansett".
  2. Turn left at the light at the end of the ramp. - take the second option out of the rotary. i don't remember if it is marked or not. this road is marked "1A" below.
  3. Turn left when you get to the stop light at the end of the road.
  4. Turn left when you get to the stop light at the end of the road. again! You should be able to see the beach/ocean now.
  5. Turn right into the second parking lot - somewhere around the pavilion on the left side of the lot.

From the south:

  1. If you are coming from connecticut, i think it is easiest to take the exit off 95 that says something like "Westerly, RI Beaches". i believe this is the last exit on 95 in connecticut.
  2. Follow the signs to get to westerly. - 1 north towards narragansett/wakefield
  3. Take the exit marked 108. you will see a couple of signs for wakefield, and the south county hospital before you reach this exit.
  4. Turn right at the end of the ramp.
  5. Turn left at the second light. there will be a mobil station on the corner. be careful not to take the ramp that puts you back onto 1 north just as you make this turn - i.e., stay left at the fork.
  6. Take the first option out of the rotary. i don't remember if it is marked or not. this road is marked "1A" on the map below.
  7. Follow the directions above from #3.
